I'm not sure how often these two fabulous talents are found together in the same person - the ability to be both innovative and creative at the same time, what do you think?
To be able to combine two talents and use them in your work has to be amazingly satisfying and when you see how Samata Angel has used hers, you'll get a feel for just how incredible you can be. 1. What talent do you naturally have that makes you successful?
I think that a natural talent I have is my ability to find new ways to do things, in essence to be innovative. I am a really creative person and this skill helps in so many areas with Samata’s Muse, my clothing label, and my other ventures. Not only does it help when it comes to designing clothing and new products, it also helps me to identify gaps in the market and find ways to serve them before my competitors do.
2. When did you first realise that talent was going to help you and how do you use it?
I think I first realised this talent would help me when I was plunged into the deep end whilst working as Head of PR for Elival, a Kings Road boutique, before setting up my clothing label. I was given a great deal of responsibility off the bat and it was a case of sink or swim. I had to apply most of the theory I picked up at university but I also needed to be really creative. I came up with concepts for fashion shows, interesting PR angles stories for the store and made the boutique owner the ‘brand face’ of the store, which had never really been done before. Now with my label and other ventures I use my ability to be innovative to keep Samata’s Muse relevant and a la mode through exciting new products and ventures. The guide book series that I have just launched for example is really the first of its kind and I hope to remain inspired so that I can keep delivering exciting concepts and products.
