What are you like when you get a bee in your bonnet? Do friends and family around you tell you hat you never know when to give up and that you're driving them mad trying to make something work?
Well what appears to be your downfall could in fact be your biggest strength. That's exactly how Rachel Watkyn chose to see a major trait in her personality – she's tenacious to say the least and it seems will go to extreme lengths to make sure she achieves what she wants. She's definitely an inspirational Pink Expert, read on and feel the glow!
1. What talent do you naturally have that makes you successful?
Tenacity – in fact I'm like a dog with a bone and often don’t know when to give up even when something appears a lost cause! As a young child, if I was determined enough to do something, I couldn’t let go and went from not being able to swim, to swimming 5km in 6 weeks – I was there at the outdoor pool every day no matter how cold and wet it was! There is always a solution, it just means if something doesn’t work, you need to try a different way until you achieve the solution you want.
2. When did you first realise that talent was going to help you and how do you use it?
I first realised when I was working for a software company and when other people said to customers that something couldn’t be done, I found I could come up with a solution if I stuck at it for long enough and looked at the problem from different angles. This has certainly come in useful with the Tiny Box Company as I had no background in packaging and no contacts and had to come up with solutions quickly about a subject I knew nothing about. I have since learnt very quickly!
