I've met a lot of passionate business women in my time but I think my next Pink expert Emma Wimhurst probably gets top prize! She's living proof that if you're passionate about what you do, you're going to make it – simple as that! I'll let her tell you the rest;
1. What talent do you naturally have that makes you successful?
I believe that my talent is my passionate - and proven - approach to everything I do. I really don't believe that you should do anything in life unless you do it to your absolute best ability. My motto is PPP - Passion Produces Performance and by that I mean if you have the Passion Factor it will help you get through the many challenges we face. Be passionate in what you do - in other words - love and enjoy what you are doing; Be passionate in why you are doing something - be clear on why you are doing it; Be passionate in wanting to learn and discover new things because we don't know everything but we need to have to want to learn and finally; Be Passionate in finding ways to move on rather than giving up - because we will all face challenges it is how we approach them, which differentiates us.
2. When did you first realise that talent was going to help you and how do you use it?
I realised from a very early age that I wanted to work for myself and this desire remained with me throughout my life until my early 30s when the right opportunity presented itself. I set up a business in 2000 - Diva Cosmetics Ltd - supplying Colour Cosmetics to the fashion retail outlets on the High Street - such as Accessorize, River Island, New Look, Claires Accessories, BHS etc... I had to continually depend on my fundamental passion to be a successful business woman - because there were many challenges throughout this journey - it was how I approached them that ensured I was successful. I sold the business in 2004 and had two more children. My passion to impart my knowledge and experience to others, led to the setting up of EMpwr. I am a high-energy business mentor and motivational speaker and using my experiences and proven business formula, Seven Business Disciplines, I encourage, motivate and inspire others to succeed.
