You know, when you have a talent, it means you don't have to work as hard at something - it's there within you anyway - capitalising on that talent therefore simply makes you more successful than you would have been without it - if you're able to use that talent in your work every day, you'll excel without even realising it and that's exactly what Susan Heaton Wright does! Her talent is empathy and I'll let her tell you when she first realised how helpful it was going to be...
1: What talent do you naturally have that makes you successful?
Empathy.
2: When did you first realise that talent was going to help and how do you use it?
Although I recognised that I was able to empathise with people, it wasn’t until other experienced business women (and men) constantly commented that I had a knack for understanding other people’s problems and could provide solutions for them. I was able to appreciate their perspective and business and to be able to listen to them. This has been an invaluable asset for selling products and services; for providing advice and to create other products and services that clients could need. Many people buy ‘from people’ and empathising with them means there is an immediate connection. This is a very powerful talent to have!
