Being a 'people' person' is such an over-used phrase! Far too many people in my opinion use it without a second thought for what it actually means. It means putting people at ease, being empathetic, being able to speak confidently and meet new people. When Annie Ashdown uses it though, she understands exactly what being a people person is all about, she's got it off to a tee! Here she is!
1: What talent do you naturally have that makes you successful?
I am constantly told I make people feel at ease and although I pull no punches, I am compassionate with everyone, along with clients in my practise and on TV. I am naturally at ease in front of the camera (I did my first advert at age 8). I also feel confident speaking publicly, and when I am asked to contribute for press I find words flow with no effort at all. My biggest talent is my strong intuition, which I have found brings powerful results in all areas of my life. I feel having humility and grace also brings me success.
2: When did you first realise that talent was going to help you and how do you use it?
I was short listed from hundreds down to the last two to co host a huge chat show in the 80s on BBC1. Although not getting it did knock my confidence in one way, the paradox was at that point I realised I was naturally gifted with people. After 15 years in TV I decided that my talent was helping people be comfortable with who they were. I therefore constantly work on myself and shine that out, so I can inspire others and motivate them to shine their light and be themselves. After all being fake is so last season.........the nation hungers authenticity me thinks
