1. What talent do you naturally have that makes you successful?
Excellent listening skills and an innate sense of style with the ability to translate my clients' ideas into a reality without busting the bank balance. It is really important to listen to a client when they are discussing their home and their lifestyle to help them create a space that works and meets the brief. I enjoy working with my clients and helping them develop their own style so that they have the confidence to take on their own projects successfully.
2. When did you first realise that talent was going to help you and how do you use it?
I'm a late starter as it wasn't until I had taken voluntary redundancy that I actually thought about what I like. I was an events marketing manager and loved styling events so using these talents I translated these into interior design and styling whilst still keeping my hand in events organising parties for private clients. Running events and planning and designing interior spaces have very similar traits listening to what a client wants, developing a concept, delivering to budget with excellent project management skills these talents I have in abundance but the end result is far more satisfying.
I'd love to profile you here – what talent kick started your business off and when did you realise you had that talent? Send your answers to the questions above to me, Lynette at lynette@pinkskills.co.uk
