1. What talent do you naturally have that makes you successful?
I can very quickly see the intellectual capital that is just 'lying around' in a business, just begging to be turned into a book or other product. I have the ability to listen to what is said and also to pick up on the unspoken. I can figure out what the essence of a person or business is and help experts and professionals come up with stunning book and product ideas so that they can make the most of new internet and networking technologies.
2. When did you first realise you had this talent and how do you use it every day?
I noticed it when I moved into publishing and was looking to commission authors to write about their lives, their expertise and their businesses. I moved out of publishing and into consulting after 10 years as I wanted to be more involved in a business, beyond books. Books are just the tip of the iceberg, it is how you use them that counts: they build careers, open opportunities for pr, speaking, workshops and e-products. As a publisher, I had to leave that to the author to figure out for themselves, now as a consultant I can work with people to build a strategy around books.
I help make the intangible, ideas, experience, skills and knowledge into something tangible such as, books, e-books, workshops. And I tailor the ideas for every individual. With the fab opportunities now presented by the internet and social networking, It's an exciting time to be in business!
