Simply courageous

I so admire people with courage and determination, I think it's one of the biggest strengths a woman in business can have.  It may not seem like a talent, but I really believe it is.  Katy Chandler, our next business woman to be featured on our Campaign to Inspire Women in business puts her success largely down to her courage and determination to be the best, I'll let her tell you the rest...

1. What talent do you naturally have that makes you successful?

I've got a fair amount of courage and determination which means I’m prepared to give things a go and work hard to get it right. 

2. When did you first realise you had this talent and how do you use it every day? 

As a young girl I was always a keen team sports player. I learnt early in life that performance is directly related to effort put it and results take courage, determination and most importantly effort. This has certainly carried through to my business philosophy where I believe in working hard to try and make things distinctive. Having spent the past 12 years in marketing I’ve learnt that simply delivering the product or service is never enough: It’s important that every touch point with the customer - from their initial brand impressions, interaction with the website, product delivery, packaging and post purchase service – helps to set you apart. Not being willing to settle for the status quo means there’s always something to chase which is fun! It also sometimes means saying no to things that you know are not achievable or that cannot be done well.
