What talent do you naturally have that makes you successful?
I think it’s probably leadership and positive attitude. I’m good at bringing the right people and resources together to make something happen, no matter how difficult it might seem.
When did you first realise you had this talent and how do you use it every day?
As the eldest of three sisters, I probably developed these skills at a pretty early age as I figured out how I could get my little siblings to go along with my plans! These days I use my skills in business development. I love nothing more than taking something from idea stage to making it happen, and keeping the vision alive with all those involved even when the hurdles seem pretty big. Co-founding Upper Street with my sister Katy was like a dream come true. It’s so exciting to take the seed of an idea that we came up with over dinner, through to business plan stage, and then being able to execute it by bringing together an extended team of experts in the fields of shoe design and production, branding, web design and public relations. My attention to detail probably isn’t the greatest in my rush to get there, but luckily that’s one of Katy’s fortes; we make a great team!
