Here at TWCC, we're always looking for people to inspire our readers and no-one came more highly recommended that Personal Trainer Lisa Kent. We were so impressed that she's joined our regular team of bloggers, so you'll be hearing a lot more from her.
An ex-city girl, she knows exactly what it's like to be in a full on job and worry about fitting in exercise on top of everything else! Read about her profile by clicking here and see what she has to say about her success to date below;
1) What talent do you naturally have that makes you successful?
I give a lot of myself to everything that I do, my heart and soul goes into my work, and into all aspects of my life. I am told that my enthusiasm shines through and captures people’s attention. Motivation is a large part of my day to day work with clients, and my absolute belief in their ability, as well as my own, enables my clients to achieve goals they had previously thought impossible. I give 100 per cent to each and every training session that I teach, or take part in and that inspires others around me to do the same.
2) When did you first realise the talent was going to help you and how do you use it?
As soon as I started teaching kick boxing I just knew, quite late in life, that I had found what I wanted to do "when I grew up"! Seeing people that I coached improve in confidence and in fitness made me so happy, and the positive feedback that I got from my clients let me know that I had a talent for getting the best out of people.
3) What emotional attachment do you have to your work?
I am extremely emotionally attached to what I do every day, I do not believe you can be a good personal trainer otherwise. I care about my clients, they confide their goals and ambitions to me, and it is my job to enable them to achieve these goals. I show my clients the path to fitness, health and well-being, and when a client finally achieves the weight loss, or the fitness goal they have worked so hard for it is an emotional experience for us both!
4) What advice do you have for other women who would like to do your job?
As a personal trainer you have to live your life in a way that inspires others - you really need to walk the walk as well as talk the talk. Be a good talker but a better listener, really listen to your clients goals and dreams. Always be cheerful - even at six in the morning in the snow!
Look out for Lisa's blogs starting this week!
