We are so pleased to be able to introduce Helen Hind to you, she's been hand picked to join our team because of her commitment to coaching busy mums and her talent for her job. What talent do you naturally have that makes you successful?
Firstly and most importantly I’m a mum, secondly I have unlimited passion for my work, it’s not just a job! I am naturally a person who likes to help others and draw the best from them. My main attributes are being able to empathise genuinely with people whilst being honest and non-judgemental. I also enjoy listening to others, you can gain so much from just listening! I have two children who forever keep me on my toes and so have experience with all the up’s and downs first hand, so when I may nod my head in agreement, is isn’t just a nod, I really do understand.
When did you first realise that talent?
About 7 years ago I realised that I wanted to help others, I wasn’t sure how but knew that had seemed to have an ability to make people feel at ease when in conversation with me. I started with psychology and psychodynamic counselling these helped me on my way to find Life Coaching which has really stuck for me. It was a friend who introduced me to this telling me “it really sounds like something you would be brilliant at!!” She was right as it really does fit with me. Being able to offer help on my client’s terms is what I love about coaching and why it suits me so well, it’s not about the telling, it’s about the asking.
What emotional attachment do you have to your work?
Being a mum myself gives me emotional attachment to my work and the commitment I have to my clients. I have so much passion and belief in the benefits of coaching mums, allowing them a window of time just for them, in the middle of their busy, hectic lives that mums can so easily get lost in. Being able to be the person who allows mums to find their very own answers, clarity, empowerment and optimism on a daily basis is just fantastic.
What tips do you have for other women who’d like to do your job?
Do you have a genuine interest in helping others? Can you sit and listen allowing a person to find their own answers rather than wanting to jump in and advise them? Can you keep focused on where someone wants to be rather than where they are now? Have you got natural empathy and interest in people without judging? There is so much more to this job but if you answer the above questions with yes’s then maybe this is the path for you to…………..
