What talent do you naturally have that makes you successful?
I feel that my ability for getting on with people of all ages, discovering their interests and keeping in contact with them, was certainly a talent that shouldn’t go untapped.
When did you first realise that talent was going to help you and how do you use it?
My business as a Colour & Style Consultant certainly helped to fulfil some of my desire to work with people, but still something was missing? So I started to network, thus meeting more and more ladies. I eventually decided to complete my business dream and purchased a franchise with The Athena Network and I now run groups in Essex and Herts. Meeting likeminded business women (who may also want their Colour done!!!) and seeing their talents go from strength to strength at our very vibrant and informative monthly groups is so satisfying.
What emotional attachment do you have to your work?
The emotional attachment that I have for my work has superseded my expectations. I am so proud of their achievements and the connections made through networking. The “icing on my cake” as they say, was to be asked to be the stylist for a new charity called FAB (Fabulous & Beautiful) which is run at St. Margaret’s Hospital, Epping in Essex which supports all women with the side effect of cancer treatments. We are all volunteers and this has taken me to new levels with such “wonderful true women”.
What tips do you have for other women who'd like to do your job?
My advice to any woman is not to feel that you have to be able to do EVERYTHING! Do what you are good at and seek help or advice with the less confident things that keep you awake at night. Speak to other likeminded women, perhaps you may end up working together on an idea.
You haven’t failed until you stop!!! Only regret the things in life that you haven’t done.
