Shock horror - I'm actually growing something!!!!!! (no nothing nasty, illegal or otherwise). Mint. I'm growing mint...quite successfully (see pic to illustrate my newly found green fingers!).
Now 'those in the know' reassure me that it's actually quite difficult to kill Mint...most have warned me about the perils of putting it in my garden but to be honest, I'd be glad if something grew in my garden!
We all know I'm not a gardener, which is why I'm SO impressed with growing Mint on the kitchen windowsill. These are the things I've realised I can do with Mint.
- Pick off the leaves (bottom ones not newly sprouting top ones (thanks Husband!)) and pour boiling water over for refreshing drink whilst feeling smug at having grown own tea
- Pick off the leaves, chop finely and add to salads and lamb casseroles, whilst feeling smug at having grown own salad and casserole herbs
- Pick off the leaves and offer to dogs for much fresher breath (whilst feeling smug at having grown own doggie-dental care product)
Impressed?????

Impressive!
